Cyrilovite crystals from Hagendorf, Bavaria, Germany – micromount as unique piece

This micromount specimen shows Cyrilovite crystals from Hagendorf, Bavaria, Germany. The piece presents a finely structured matrix with small, intensely colored crystal areas in yellowish to brown tones standing out. The surface appears lively and detailed with numerous reflective faces.

The Cyrilovite crystals are visible on the specimen and form fine, partly lustrous aggregates distributed irregularly across the matrix. Despite the small size, the crystals show an attractive development and contribute significantly to the aesthetic appeal of this classic locality.

Geology & Origin

Cyrilovite is a hydrated iron phosphate that typically forms in pegmatites. It often develops as a secondary mineral through alteration processes of other phosphate minerals.

Hagendorf in Bavaria is one of the most important localities worldwide for phosphate minerals. The pegmatite deposit is famous for its exceptional diversity of rare mineral species and has produced numerous scientifically important finds.
