Creedite Crystals from La Navidad, Durango, Mexico – One unique lot with 10 pieces

Creedite is a distinctive mineral that commonly occurs in densely arranged groups of slender to prismatic crystals. Specimens from this locality typically display pale, transparent to translucent crystals ranging from nearly colorless and cream-colored to yellowish, orange or slightly reddish shades. Compact radial or spray-like crystal aggregates are characteristic, with individual crystal faces often showing a noticeable luster under changing light. The shape, size, arrangement and color intensity of the crystals naturally vary from specimen to specimen. The specimen shown in the pictures is the unique piece offered.

Geology & Origin

Creedite is a rare calcium aluminium sulfate fluoride that typically forms as a late-stage mineral in hydrothermal deposits, often in association with Fluorite-rich mineralization. Fluorine- and sulfate-bearing fluids can circulate through fractures and cavities, creating suitable conditions for the development of its characteristic crystal aggregates. La Navidad in the Mexican state of Durango is internationally known as a notable Creedite locality and is especially recognized for well-developed, frequently radial crystal groups. The deposits of Durango form part of a mineralogically important region of Mexico in which hydrothermal processes produced a wide variety of mineral species.

The flat shown in the pictures will be shipped with the corresponding box and, if applicable, folding boxes. These may be partially used, show signs of wear, and have multiple labels or markings.
