Costibite from Gruvasen, Sweden – small cabinet specimen as unique piece
This cabinet specimen features Costibite from Gruvasen, Sweden. The piece consists of a compact metallic matrix with silvery gray to slightly bronze colored areas and an irregular partly flaky surface. In small cavities, lighter fine grained to slightly crystalline coatings are visible, adding texture and visual depth to the specimen. Costibite is a rare sulfide mineral that typically forms in complex metal rich deposits. It develops under hydrothermal conditions together with other sulfides and often occurs in massive form within ore veins.
