Clinomimetite crystals from Traversella, Italy – miniature specimen as unique piece

This miniature specimen with Clinomimetite crystals from Traversella, Italy, displays a striking paragenesis on a dark iron rich matrix. The bright yellow crystals are mainly situated in small cavities and on more open surface areas, creating a strong contrast with the surrounding rock.

The Clinomimetite crystals are clearly visible and appear as small compact crystal aggregates with vivid coloration. Despite their small size, the crystalline character is well defined, and the distribution of the crystals gives the specimen a lively and varied appearance.

Geology & Origin

Clinomimetite belongs to the apatite group and typically forms in the oxidized zones of lead deposits. The Traversella locality in Italy is known for its diverse secondary minerals formed through the weathering of primary ores. The crystals seen here are characteristic of such environments and reflect chemically active, oxidizing conditions typical for these deposits.
