This cabinet specimen features Clinochlore (variety Kämmererite) crystals from Kop Dag, Turkey. Geologie & Herkunft

Clinochlore belongs to the chlorite group and is a sheet silicate that typically forms in metamorphic rocks. The variety Kämmererite owes its characteristic violet color to chromium content and is commonly found in ultramafic rocks or contact metamorphic environments. Kop Dag in Turkey is a classic locality for Kämmererite and is well known for its vividly colored and aesthetically appealing specimens.
