Claraite crystals fromt the Clara Mine, Black Forest, Germany – miniature specimen as unique piece

This miniature specimen features Clarait crystals from the Clara Mine in the Black Forest, Germany. Delicate, finely developed crystals sit on a light, partly translucent matrix, accompanied by small colored inclusions in greenish and yellowish tones. The interplay between the transparent to milky base and the subtle color accents gives the specimen a very elegant and refined appearance.

The Clarait crystals are visibly developed and show a fine crystalline structure. They occur in small aggregates and display a subtle luster that contrasts nicely with the light matrix. The crystallization is clearly recognizable and creates an aesthetically pleasing and highly collectible specimen.

Geology & Origin

Clarait is a rare secondary copper zinc mineral that forms in the oxidation zones of sulfide ore deposits. It develops under complex geochemical conditions and commonly occurs alongside other secondary mineral phases.

The Clara Mine in the Black Forest is one of the most important mineral localities in Europe and is internationally renowned for its exceptional diversity of rare minerals. Secondary formations such as Clarait from this locality are especially valued by collectors.
