Cinnabar (Cinnabarite) crystals from St. Eulalia, Chihuahua, Mexico – small cabinet specimen as unique piece

This small cabinet specimen features Cinnabar crystals from St. Eulalia, Chihuahua, Mexico. The piece presents a light-colored, partially porous matrix with an open cavity structure hosting intensely red crystals. The crystals are densely arranged within the cavities and create a strong visual contrast against the surrounding lighter matrix, resulting in a clearly structured and striking appearance.

Geologie & Herkunft

Cinnabar is a mercury sulfide that forms in hydrothermal deposits at low temperatures, often associated with volcanic activity. Its characteristic red color is caused by its high mercury content. St. Eulalia in Chihuahua is a classic locality for cinnabar and other sulfide minerals, formed within complex vein systems from hot, mineral-rich fluids.
