Our raw stones are partially not cleaned. Possible impurities such as dust or dirt can be easily and quickly removed with water. This has no impact on the product quality.
This 100 g lot consists of natural rough Chrysoprase pieces in vivid to pale green and apple-green tones. The pieces show partly compact, slightly translucent areas together with natural brown to rusty matrix and weathering zones, clearly displaying the typical appearance of the rough material. Shape, size, color intensity and matrix content may naturally vary from piece to piece. The picture shows a sample.
Geology & Origin
Chrysoprase is a green variety of Chalcedony belonging to the Quartz group. Its characteristic green color is caused by small amounts of nickel-bearing compounds. Material from Tanzania typically forms in nickel-rich weathering zones and may occur together with iron-rich brown to reddish matrix material.
Picture shows sample! Item may differ in size, shape and colour from the sample images.
To see the colors better the stones are wetted for some pictures.
