Geology & Origin
The Ray Mine in Pinal County, Arizona, is one of the most significant copper deposits in the United States. Hydrothermal activity and supergene alteration produced colorful parageneses of Cuprite, Azurite, Malachite, Chrysocolla, and native Copper. This combination makes the Ray Mine one of the most important reference localities for classic secondary copper minerals.
