Chabournéite crystals from Jas Roux, Hautes-Alpes, France – miniature specimen as unique piece

This striking specimen features intensely orange to reddish chabourneite crystals scattered across a contrasting light grey quartz matrix. The crystals are small but clearly visible, well-formed, and lustrous. The vivid color and sharp crystal faces give the piece a highly aesthetic appeal, making it a desirable addition to any mineral collection.

Chabourneite is a rare copper-antimony sulfosalt, known for its bright orange hues. Specimens from Jas Roux in the French Alps are especially valued for their rich coloration and mineralogical purity.

Jas Roux, located in the Hautes-Alpes region of France, is a classic locality for rare lead, copper, and antimony minerals. In its hydrothermal veins, chabourneite forms fine crystal coatings and aggregates in association with quartz, siderite, and various sulfide minerals. Specimens of this quality are now rarely available and are prized for both their rarity and intense color contrast.
