Caryopilite crystals from the N'Chwaning Mine, Kuruman, South Africa – miniature specimen as unique piece

This attractive miniature specimen displays delicate pink Caryopilite on a crystalline matrix from the famous N'Chwaning Mine in the Kalahari Manganese Field. The surface is covered with numerous fine crystals that give the specimen a bright sparkle. Particularly striking are the more intensely colored orange to reddish-brown crystal aggregates near the top of the specimen, creating an appealing contrast with the pale pink crystalline coating. Crystals are clearly visible across the entire display surface and contribute to the lively, glittering appearance of the piece.

Geology & Origin

Caryopilite is a rare manganese-bearing phyllosilicate that typically forms in manganese-rich deposits. The N'Chwaning Mine near Kuruman, South Africa, is one of the world's most important localities for manganese minerals and is renowned for producing an exceptional variety of rare mineral species. The complex geochemical conditions within the Kalahari Manganese Field led to the formation of numerous unusual minerals, including Karyopilite. Due to its rarity and origin from one of the most famous mineral localities in the world, this mineral is highly appreciated by collectors of South African and manganese-bearing mineral species.
