Embedded Bustamite crystals from Geisspfad, Binntal, Switzerland– micromount as unique piece

This micromount specimen features embedded Bustamite crystals from the Geisspfad area in the Binntal, a classic Swiss locality for manganese-rich silicates. The crystals are firmly anchored within the light to pinkish-brown matrix and display the characteristic reddish-beige tones typical of Bustamite. Due to their fine development, the crystals are only clearly visible under magnification, while subtle color zoning indicates their presence.

Geology & Origin

Bustamite belongs to the wollastonite group and forms in manganese-rich skarn zones generated by contact metamorphism between carbonate rocks and magmatic intrusions. The Geisspfad locality in the Binntal is well known for complex skarn reactions and provides ideal conditions for the formation of rare manganese minerals such as Bustamite.
