Brochantite crystals from Glücksrad Mine, Oberschulenberg, Harz, Germany – micromount as unique piece
This micromount features fine Brochantite crystals on a light-coloured quartz matrix. The vivid emerald- to bluish-green crystals provide striking colour accents that contrast beautifully with the colourless to white crystalline areas of the matrix. The combination of vibrant colours and delicate crystal coatings makes this an attractive collector's specimen.
Geology & Origin
The Glücksrad Mine near Oberschulenberg in the Harz Mountains is one of Germany's classic ore localities. Brochantite formed here as a secondary copper mineral within the oxidation zone of copper-bearing ore veins. The Harz has a long mining history and is renowned as one of Germany's most mineralogically diverse regions.
