Baricite crystals from Rapid Creek, Yukon, Canada– miniature specimen as unique piece

This miniature specimen displays strikingly embedded, deep blue to indigo Baricite aggregates within a matrix of yellow and white areas. The sharp contrast in coloration lends the piece notable visual depth. The combination of light, translucent zones and intensely colored inclusions creates a strong aesthetic presence at collection scale.

Geology & Origin

Baricite is a rare barium sulfate that typically forms in sedimentary environments. The Rapid Creek area in Canada’s Yukon Territory is among the world’s most famous localities for phosphate- and sulfate-rich minerals occurring alongside iron-bearing sediments. At this site, Baricite appears in association with minerals such as Siderite, Vivianite, and Lazulite, often in highly vivid colorations. The geological diversity of the region makes specimens like this valuable additions to systematic collections.
