Azurite-Malachite crystals pseudomorph in Fraipontite from the Silver Bill Mine, AZ, USA  miniature specimen as unique piece

This striking small cabinet specimen displays intense green-blue zones sharply contrasting with the bright yellow matrix. The greenish-blue areas suggest secondary alteration of originally present Azurite or Malachite, now partially or fully replaced by Faipontite. The orange-brown oxidation zones and varied surface textures give the piece strong visual impact.

Geology & Origin

The Silver Bill Mine in Arizona is known for its complex oxidation zone mineralogy, rich in copper, lead, and zinc minerals. Faipontite, a rare zinc-aluminum phyllosilicate, forms as a secondary mineral in such environments. This specimen shows remnants or pseudomorphic replacements of Azurite and Malachite by Faipontite – a paragenesis typical for this locality and geochemically insightful.
