Arsenolamprite crystals from Niederschlema, Erzgebirge, Germany – micromount as unique piece

This micromount specimen features Arsenolamprite from Niederschlema, Ore Mountains, Germany. The piece is characterized by densely packed Arsenolamprite crystals with a metallic luster, creating a strongly textured surface with vivid light reflections. The crystals show sharp, angular forms and are tightly intergrown, resulting in a compact yet visually dynamic appearance. The dark silvery gray to slightly bluish tones emphasize the typical aesthetic of this rare arsenic sulfide.

Geology & origin

Niederschlema in the Ore Mountains is a classic locality for complex hydrothermal ore mineralization with a strong focus on arsenic minerals. Arsenolamprite forms under specific chemical conditions within these systems and commonly occurs in association with other arsenic rich minerals. The multi stage formation history of the deposit results in a remarkable mineralogical diversity in compact aggregates.
