Geology & origin
The Han Bogdo region in the Mongolian Gobi is known for its complex alkaline rock formations and rare silicate minerals. Armstrongite forms in such geochemically unusual environments and is often associated with other rare mineral phases. The locality is relatively uncommon but mineralogically highly interesting within Central Asia.
