This cabinet specimen features embedded Ardennite crystals from Salm Chateuau, Ardennes, Belgium. The piece consists of a light quartz rich matrix in which striking golden yellow to orange Ardennite crystals are embedded. The crystals appear radiating to fibrous and run visibly through the rock, creating an attractive color contrast between the light base and the intensely colored mineral inclusions.
Geology & origin
Ardennite is a rare silicate mineral that typically forms in metamorphically altered rocks. It develops under specific pressure and temperature conditions and is often embedded in quartz rich host rocks.
