Apuanite from Buca della Vena, Italy – micromount as unique piece
This specimen shows a brown apuanite with dark inclusions on light matrix. Its compact formation gives the mineral a distinctive appearance, further emphasized by the strong color contrast.
The specimen comes from the Buca della Vena mine in Italy, a classic locality for rare minerals from hydrothermal tin-tungsten deposits. Apuanite is a complex iron-titanium silicate and belongs to the rarer mineral species. Due to its scarcity and characteristic appearance, apuanite is considered an interesting collector’s mineral, especially from this classic Italian locality.
