Apjohnite crystals from Terlano, Bolzano, Italy – micromount as unique piece
This specimen shows delicate, needle-like Apjohnite crystals in whitish to cream coloration. The fine crystals form loose, tufted aggregates that give the piece a soft, almost filigree appearance. Their radiating growth habit creates a vivid and detailed surface structure.
The specimen comes from Terlano near Bolzano, Italy, a well-known classic locality for Apjohnite. This rare sulfate mineral crystallizes in fine needle-like aggregates and typically forms in the oxidation zones of ore deposits. Due to its rarity and aesthetic, tufted crystal formations, Apjohnite is considered a valuable collector’s mineral.
