This piece is a top specimen with several intensely turquoise-green Apachite crystals contrasting strongly against the light-colored matrix. The crystals are clearly visible and stand out impressively with their vivid color. The specimen comes from the Christmas Mine in Arizona, USA, a classic locality for rare copper minerals. Apachite is an unusual copper silicate typically forming in the oxidation zone.
