A varied selection of Amethyst and Quartz crystals from Namibia, showing a combination of translucent to smoky grey Quartz and violet Amethyst tones. The crystals often occur as well formed, prismatic individuals on matrix, creating a natural and structured appearance. Typical is the interplay between clear, greyish and purple areas within and between the crystals, giving the material a balanced and visually interesting character.

Geology & origin

Quartz (SiO₂) is one of the most widespread minerals and forms in a wide range of geological environments, especially in hydrothermal veins. Amethyst is the violet variety of Quartz, with its color caused by trace elements such as iron and natural irradiation. The specimens originate from Namibia, a region known for producing Quartz and Amethyst with distinct crystal forms and varied coloration.
