Amethyst crystals from Brazi– small cabinet specimen as unique piece

This small cabinet specimen displays numerous Amethyst crystals from Brazil, forming a densely covered crystal surface with predominantly light purple to pale lavender hues. The crystals are clearly developed, mostly transparent to translucent, and show well-defined prismatic shapes with sparkling terminations. Scattered lighter, blocky areas occur between the Amethyst crystals, creating a strong visual contrast to the violet crystal zones and adding mineralogical diversity to the specimen.

Geology & Origin

In Brazil, Amethyst commonly forms within gas-filled cavities of basaltic volcanic rocks that are later penetrated by silica-rich hydrothermal fluids. Under suitable physical and chemical conditions, quartz crystallizes, with traces of iron and natural irradiation producing the characteristic purple coloration. Brazil is one of the world’s most important sources of Amethyst and is renowned for its extensive deposits of aesthetic crystal specimens in a wide range of sizes.
