Allactite and Manganhörnesite crystals from Östra Mossgruvan, Nordmark, Sweden – miniature specimen as unique piece

This miniature specimen features a finely textured aggregate with purplish-brown to blackish zones containing embedded crystals of Allactite and Manganohörnesite. The surface appears matte to slightly lustrous and is mostly compact. Under magnification, a few tiny crystal reflections are visible, making this a piece of interest for systematic collectors.

Geology & Origin:

The Östra Mossgruvan near Nordmark in Sweden is a well-known locality for rare manganese arsenates, especially from hydrothermally influenced skarn zones. Allactite and Manganohörnesite occur there together with other arsenates, typically in small parageneses. The mine is now closed, which makes specimens from this locality increasingly sought after.
