Agate is a fine grained variety of the mineral Quartz and belongs to the Chalcedony group. The material usually forms in volcanic rocks where silica rich solutions crystallize layer by layer inside cavities. Brazil is one of the world’s most important sources for Agate and produces material with a wide range of colors and good cutting quality. The offered faceted specimens show the typical appearance of polished Agate in decorative gemstone quality.
