This one-side polished piece of fossilized wood from Indonesia features an impressive interplay between preserved wood textures and vividly colored chalcedony. The polished surface reveals fine banding in shades of green, turquoise and yellow, created as the original wood was gradually replaced and preserved through chalcedony infusion. Natural cavities and granular textures within the surface add depth and visual interest, while the backside remains unpolished, displaying the natural rock matrix.

The included gold-colored metal stand provides a stable and elegant display, perfectly highlighting the polished face. Fossil wood of this type forms when silicate-rich fluids permeate and replace organic material over long geological periods, preserving the original wood structure in remarkable detail and transforming it into colorful chalcedony.
