Agardite – (La) xls; Hilarion Mine, Lavrion, Greece; Min; unique piece
Agardite-(La) crystals from Greece – miniature specimen as unique piece
This unique piece features striking, radiating Agardite-(La) crystal sprays on a contrasting brown matrix. The fine, needle-like aggregates display an intense turquoise-green color, forming distinct sparkling highlights across the surface. Presented as a miniature specimen, it showcases the delicate aesthetics and rarity of this mineral species.
The specimen originates from the historic Hilarion Mine in Lavreotiki (Agios Konstantinos), Greece, a renowned locality for rare secondary minerals from the oxidation zone. Agardite-(La) is a rare lanthanum-dominant variety of the Agardite group, crystallizing in the hexagonal system and typically occurring as bright green to yellow-green acicular aggregates. Specimens with such vivid color and well-defined crystal habit are known from only a few localities worldwide.
This table is for general information and orientation, although the sizes of the stones may vary. In addition, this specification is handled differently from region to region.
