Agardite-(Ce) crystals from Greece – miniature specimen as unique piece

This unique piece features fine, needle-like Agardite-(Ce) crystals on a contrasting brown matrix. The aggregates exhibit an intense green to turquoise coloration, forming dense, sparkling coatings that stand out clearly against the rock surface. Presented as a miniature specimen, this piece highlights the delicate structure and rarity of the species.

The specimen originates from the historic Hilarion Mine in Lavreotiki (Agios Konstantinos), Greece, an internationally renowned locality for rare secondary minerals. Agardite-(Ce) belongs to the Agardite group, a subgroup of rare earth minerals, and is cerium-dominant. It crystallizes in the hexagonal system and typically occurs as bright green acicular aggregates. Worldwide, Agardite-(Ce) is known from only a few localities, and specimens of this quality are highly sought after.
