This impressive cabinet specimen features numerous Cafarsite crystals on light alpine matrix from the classic Cerbadung locality in Switzerland's Binntal region. The dark brown to nearly black crystals display strong luster and the sharp crystal forms characteristic of Cafarsite. Geology & Origin
The Binntal region is one of the world's most important localities for rare arsenate and silicate minerals. Cafarsite is a rare calcium iron arsenate silicate renowned for its distinctive crystal morphology. The Cherbadung locality is considered one of the classic occurrences of this mineral and has produced many outstanding collector specimens.
